revolver question

Your question is pretty vague. What do mean by revolver frame designations? Do you mean like the J, K and L frame Smith & Wesson? All revolvers don't have those degignations

Smith & Wesson and Colt use letter designation for various guns. Others don't. These designations are normally used only by the factory for internal control, but some were used in the formal model name (like K-38) or otherwise become widely known to the general gun-buying public.

Here are some:

S&W
J Small revolver
K Medium size revolver
L Larger revolver, but still in medium class
N Large frame

Colt
P SAA
G Peacemaker and New Frontier 22
K Frontier Scout
Q Frontier Scout and Buntline Scout
F Black powder (modern production)
D Small frame
I Python
J Medium frame (Trooper, Lawman, etc.)
SF-VI New model Detective Special
AA King Cobra
MM Anaconda
O Government Model auto pistol
S Post war Woodsman

That's what I was looking for, thanks a lot

The only thing is, if a Smith J-frame is a small revolver and a Colt J-frame is medium, how can I order a holster for a J-frame revolver and know which one they mean? Is a Colt Lawman the same size as a small frame S&W? And does anybody have any recommendations for a good holster for the Colt Lawman MK III? (just a regular strong side belt holster, about $50)
Thanks

The J-, K-, L-, and N-frame designations almost always refer to S&W unless you're specifically told otherwise.
