revolver or semi auto?

I began thinking more and more about why I want a pistol, and the reason is to carry as a backup sidearm that I can take hog hunting and while tracking hogs...usually in the dark. If im in the thickest stuff looking for my hog and he is wounded i think I would want something with a laser sight and maybe more than just 6 shots. What do yall think?? Are there any good laser sights I could stick on a super blackhawk or taurus tracker 44 mag?? Im new to this whole pistol thing so any advice is welcomed. thanks and God bless!

Hi Jake

Jake,
There are lots of bolt-on laser site assemblies, some that replace the recoil spring guide rod (in autos) and some that are integral with the grips. Im not too sure about the super blackhawk..that'll probably be one of the bolt-on lasers...but a company called LaserAim probably makes some laser grips for the tracker. Hope this helps

Personally, if I were looking for hogs - especially wounded hogs - at night, I would want a powerful light rather than a laser sight.

I was thinking about mounting a tactical light to my nightstand Ruger GP-100 and came up with the link below:

I'm not a hunter but my pal takes a 10mm glock when hunting, and I think the glock 20 holds 15 rnds I think. I know a lot of 10mm folks like the hot loads from doubletap.com . Yesterday, I picked up a tactical light/lazer combo that slides onto the rail of a glock. It has a switch for light only, laser only, or light and laser, and it seems to work pretty well.

Revolver or semi auto?

.44 Magnum with speedloader and a very bright flashlightt. I would think 6 rounds of that will take care of your hog problem.
