Revolver holster for CCW.

Does anyone make a nice IWB holster or even OTWB holster for a Taurus Tracker Model 455 in 45acp with a 4 inch barrel and mag pouches for the moon clips? I would be in heaven.

wright leather works.....

The Wright Leather Works Predator is impressive. They market IWB holsters too.
The site states they do custom holsters for customer requests.
It might take a few months or cost more.

It seems that those of us who choose to carry revolvers are at a bit of disadvantage when it comes to holsters. There's eleventy-gazillion off the shelf holsters for auto loaders. There's eleven for revolvers.

Obviously, going to a custom maker could likely get us whatever kind of holster we might want. We might have a 6 month wait and a several hundred dollar bill though. That makes it vital that we do a ton of research before we make that investment and there's still a big "Hope I did the right thing" factor.

Can't collect a bag-o-holsters for wheel guns like we can for bottom feeders.

I have only had one IWB holster for revolver, but I really liked it.

Galco made (makes?) one for 2" SW .38 snubbie. It had a lengthy plastic clip riveted to the leather and held up well for years. It worked great for me, the pistol grip was just above the waistband of my pants.

If you were to shoot at me in just the right spot near my appendix the layers would be:

pants belt. plastic holster clip. pants wasitband. plastic holster clip. outer shirt. holster leather. pistol. holster leather. under shirt. skin.

For the money I was real happy with it, and if I had a bale of cash to throw at it I am not sure I could some up with anything better.

www.usgalco dot com (no affiliation) I think.

I have that paddle Galco for my Chief's Special. I agree it's a great holster. I wish they made the same holster for a 4" K frame.

Mack59,

I'd just like to find one of those Trackers in 45 ACP. (smile)

I recently got a Remora IWB holster for a 3" L-frame. It was cheep and I thought I would give it a try. Much to my surprise it worked quite well, even with the weight of a full lug, 3" L-Comp. Taking a look at their web site, or even sending them an e-mail asking about your Tracker might be worth a try.

Appreciate all the helpful feedback. I will check out some of the makers mentioned, was trying to avoid a custom holster as budget is limited. Had seen a youtube channel done by a young lady who thoroughly reviewed the Remora holsters but didn't think of them for Tracker. But as I recall they seemed to work well for her, so may check those out too. Some google results say that some S&W holsters will fit it, but they conflict as to which ones do fit.

Love my Taurus Tracker 455 in 45acp (is it allowed to say that you love a Taurus handgun?). Finally tracked down two extra sets of the full moon clips so can load up 75 rounds for a range session now. I shoot it well and it very much enjoy it, seems pretty light compared to some of my semi-autos too.

Live in Illinois but have had a Florida CCW license for years and carried on cross country travels on my motorcycle. But now Illinois looks to actually get a shall issue bill, far from perfect but a miracle none the less.

If I find something and buy it, I will let everyone know the results.

Will need to find a moon clip holder that fits too, would like to have a reload or two.

There are a good lot of custom made holsters that aren't any more/much more than some off the rack jobs. Yeah you can get a nylon job for $25 ... but what's a better deal???.... Two or three $25 nylon holster that don't work worth a hill O beans, or one $60-$80 custom holster that work great?

Hi I'm new to the forum but have been in leather work for 4 years now and been making custom holsters for family and friends for 2 and resently have made a 22 Lr cowboy belt, and working on the holster and belt for my 357 cowboy style with loops for my 300 win for a hunting rig. And have done two cowboy style 12 gauge belts and holsters for lazy man like myself so I can rest the butt of the gun in a little pouch:cool:. ( been stuck in a cowboy holster stage :D) but would be interested in helping you if you were interested in one or a ccw holster idea and can make moon clip pouches to in size and color of choice.

Cowboy belts no tooling but completely custom will run around 200$
Tooling extra depending on amount and area

Ccw will be 75$ to 100$

Shoulder rigs 150-200$

Any help on posting pics and would be more then glad to.

Old Faithful holsters might be worth looking into. I'm not sure about fitting the Tracker, but they are very adjustable. You can order as a kit that takes about 10 minutes to assemble. That saves $$$. Mine is very comfortable with a J-frame snubby.

Sure. Upload your pics to some spot on the web. Could be your web space provided by your internet host, photobucket, etc. Once the pics are "somewhere on the web", simply copy that URL where they're located. Then to insert them into a post here, start a post, click on the "Insert Image" icon above the text box (looks like a little mountain and sun landscape) then paste your image's URL into the place provided by the popup.

Simpler to do than it is to describe. Perhaps the challenge, for some, is to simply get the pics uploaded to some storage spot on the web.
