My daughter was handed down a Colt Detective Special recently.
I sent her a ProShot cleaning kit with instructions on how to clean the barrel, cylinder and the hazards of too much, if any, oil.
I know the pistol has to be quite old and don't know how it was cared for.
My problem is how to instruct a novice to clean and slightly lubricate a revolver without any dis assembly (side plate only).
Would it be safe to spray and drain CLP, after removing the grips ?
It's been so long since I owned a revolver myself.
