Review: Action Target PT Hostage Steel Target

Great review, the videos seem professionally done. I wonder if you have ever submitted any to VS or one of the other sporting networks.

Thank you, I'm glad you like them.

I haven't submitted them to any networks. I've never really thought they were network quality material. I do them out of love for the hobby and I like interacting with other shooters and firearms enthusiasts.

If you wouldn't mind could you give me the dimensions of the torso and hostage taker? Didn't see the dims showing on Action Target website. I'm currently using a 40% IPSC target head and would love to add this one.

Good Job

very comprehensive review, great intro, and you have succeeded in persuading me to get a steel target once I get heavily into target shooting!

Great review, I love your youtube channel and your vids...keep up the work!

There are also other websites that sell steel plates and setups. I've never used ActionTarget because they are a bit pricey compared to other sites, but they do have some target setups like the hostage situation and others that other steel sites don't.

There are quite a few target manufacturers. I know I have at least one here in my home state that's fairly popular.

The one thing I like about the PT series targets is that they have no holes drilled for mounting hardware. There's nothing really to break or to wear, and it's safer to shoot steel with a handgun at close range if you don't have chains, bolts and other objects in the path of the bullets that can cause an unsafe deflection of a round.

I also like that the Action Targets are made of AR550 which is considerably harder than AR500 commonly used. That means even more durability and extended life with rifle rounds.

But yes, there are other options out there for steel targets. I've had some pistol targets (not Action Target) that are at least 15 years old now and still going strong.

Yeah I hear ya. I have never used AR550 as I have about 4 or 5 AR500 plates, which 2 of them are dedicated to rifle only and 7.62x39 hasn't dented them yet...but I am sure AR550 is better for rifle rounds as you said.

Well keep up with the videos and your channel. I love watching all your vids and it's fun watching them as you seem very knowledgeable with firearms. Keep up the good work:)
