Reversing the mag catch on a CZ SP-01 Tactical

I recently bought a used CZ SP-01 Tactical 9mm on-line (Internet sale). When I picked up the gun at my local pawn shop (use them for FFL transfers), first thing I did was try to drop the mag and that's when I noticed that the mag catch was reversed for a left handed person (I'm right handed). I haven't gotten a chance to remove the grip panels yet to see what's involved in trying to reverse the mag catch back to right hand mode. Is this something fairly easy to perform without too much trouble, or is this something I should have a competent gunsmith perform. Thanks.

All my semi-autos that are reversible have been done and I am a right handed shooter. Much easier to perform reloads during competition shooting.

Don P, Do you prefer to drop the mag with your right hand trigger finger or your right hand middle finger. I always thought it was suppose to be the fastest using your shooting hand's thumb. Oh course I don't shoot competitively. I might have to try using my right hand trigger finger on the currently reversed mag catch on my SP-01 and see how that feels. Thanks for the info.

AZGlock13, yes I find that I can drop a magazine using my middle finger on the strong hand WITHOUT having to change my grip. Shooting my XD's gave me the idea having the mag release accessible from both sides. I am contemplating doing it to my 1911's as soon as funds get better. Just nice to be able to drop a mag without changing my grip. I believe thats why Glock has done the same with the Gen 4 guns. As to using my thumb on certain guns its not long enough.
