I just acquired a Revelation Shotgun, and I was hoping to get more information on this shotgun. I know absolutely nothing about shotguns so any info would be of great help! It is a Revelation Model 336, it also says Proof tested 410 Bore -3 inch chamber-. I have searched and searched and I cannot find anything about this shotgun. Thank you for any help!

Revelation was a house brand for the Western Auto chain of stores. According to one of my references your Model 336 was manufactured by Springfield, and corresponds to their Model 951.

Good luck, and good shooting!

Revelation is a brand name used by Western Auto.
Like Sears, Wards, and other big chain stores, Western Auto sold guns made by gun companies, with their brand name on them.

My records show the Revelation 336 as being a single shot, bolt action shotgun.
This was actually made by Savage-Stevens and was made in both single shot and magazine models.
Savage owned a number of brand names and this gun was sold under a number of model names, including:
Stevens Model 58C
Springfield Model 18C
Stevens Model 38A, 58,A, B, and M-51
Springfield Model 951.

The Western Auto Revelation Model 336 version is listed as being the Springfield Model 951.

Gun Parts Corporation http://www.e-gunparts.com sells all parts for these guns.

Thank you so much for the information, that really helps me out a lot! Is there anywhere I could find the value or the date of manufacture or a serial number for this gun? I tried googling it, but I did not come up with much.

The following information is from the Savage Arms Website (www.savagearms.com):

"Q. Where do I find information on older model Savage products?

A. Savage Arms is no longer able to access historical information on older Savage, Stevens, or Fox firearms. This information may be available through John Callahan who is an independent arms historian and is not an employee of Savage Arms. Mr. Callahan does not provide parts, gun smith services or offer a locator service for firearms or parts. Please send a detailed letter with:

-Your name and address
-A phone number where you can be contacted if necessary
-The model and/or serial number if available
-Any other pertinent information

Mr. Callahan will respond with a letter detailing his services. Send the
letter to:

Q. Are there any reference sources for Savage historical information?

A. Yes, there is a book by Jay Kimmel titled, Savage & Stevens Arms, Collector's History. For more information on where to purchase this book, contact, CoryStevens Publishing, Inc., 15350 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, OR, 97230, by phone at 503-328-9339, or on the web at www.corystevens.com"

Hope this helps.

Good luck, and good shooting with your heirloom!

There is a cross-reference section in the back of the Gun Parts Corp. catalog that is quite informative. It's where I get my info.
