It's got the 7-5/8" action assembly. I've noticed two hairline cracks in the wood stock on either side right behind the receiver too. I've only got 70.00 tied up in it, counting cutting the barrel to 18.5" and threading in a new bead front sight. Don't want to spend too much on wood; may have to go synthetic, but I'll check those options. This gun had a LONG plug in the mag, bringing round count down to about three. I removed it and was able to fit in four. Took the tube apart and got the spring out, and there was a short piece of tubular plastic in the spring, tapered at one end. I couldn't see ANY function for it, other than acting as another plug, so I took it out. Magazine now holds five plus one in the chamber. I downloaded an owner's manual from Mossberg, and they don't show that piece of plastic at all, just a regular shotgun plug. Wonder what it is?
