I am happy to announce that as of 30 November 2013 I will be fully retired at the age of 56. Knowing that this was happening I began to buy ammo in the calibers that I shoot most often. Rimfire ammo was one of the target calibers as was 5.56 or 223, 30/30, 30-06, 35 rem, 45 cal, 9mm,357,and 38. Now that I am on a limited income still maintaining my lifestyle without sacrifice, I still have plenty of ammo to shoot for several years without having to purchase any, than theres the reloading as well. Here is what I have on hand as far as 22lr and 22 magnum goes. I started buying befoe President Obama became president and have yet to buy ammo since his term in office. I LOVE MY CRYSTAL BALL.

WOW! You nearly have as much as I do. I started quite some time back myself, so, I haven't had to scrounge much for anything.

I envy the retirement as I know I will never get to retire myself. It's funny, everyone I know that has retired has retired from a tax payer supported job. Well, everyone except my dad and he didn't get to stay around long enough to enjoy a full retirement.

Joe you make it sound like my taxpayer job is a sham. Twenty-one years in the army and 17 years in Civil Service because I chose is not an easy thing to endure.

Do what I did sacrifice and save 35% of your pay for many years you won't regret it later.

Thanks for the well wishes gentlemen. Looking forward to it. I don't shoot competitive, just like to shoot alot. I had quite a lot more but I had not bought any 22 since President Obama took office. Never thought he would go two terms, my mistake.

Anyway I had plenty to share with local shooters free of charge who would take their children but did not have any ammo for them to enjoy the trip to the range. I would loan them my ruger and let them have at it.

You have to keep them interested while they are young.

Congrats on retirement!

That is a good start on .22LR, especially for not buying any for five years. As you indicated, it would be better if you had continued to stock up through first term. As long as I could get Blazer for $15/500 and MiniMags for under $4/100 I kept adding. Before that I had been stocking up on Federal, Winchester and Remington for different guns that liked those. But the CCI products work best with what I have now.

You are correct on your acessment NWPILGRIM, I should have continued stocking up some more on 22 ammo, but in all honesty I never got into 22lr shooting until 2008. I made the leap from my red ryder daisy BB gun to centfire. Then I got hooked on 22 that year and than I began to buy all kinds of 22 rifles. Remington 513T,Savage,ruger 10/22, winchester 52, etc.

Congratulations on your retirement, may you enjoy many years of it. I have been retired for 7 years now and love it. I am reloading more and shooting more

Thanks guys, I really feel good about retiring. I plan to do a lot of shooting and fishing as well. I love both activities equally. I am moving to Corpus Christi Tx. temporarily for a couple of years. I already found a good indoor range for the mean time and also fishing is great there.
