i have a 6.5 carcano i think it was the same kind of gun that jfk was shot with // but anyway does anyone know if a gunsmith could rebuild it and how much it would cost in parts

Depends which parts are needed and their availability.
It won't take many to become not worth the effort. :p

Having a gunsmith do any signifcant amount of work will likely exceed the value of the gun...If you're handy, you can probably scrounge many need parts off some of the auction sites, and do alot yourself, for little cost, assuming there's no major (barrel, bolt, etc.) parts required. Old milsurps are fun, but its real easy to invest way more than they are worth, unless you have a particularly rare or desireable model.

roger that

Just spent over $300 on gunsmithing on an Enfield No.4 Mk.1 refinishing it. Way better than it came from the factory. Could have kept the gun in original condition, and spent the money on a pistol or scope, etc.. but it was a little project I always wanted to do since I got the goun years ago.

Sometimes its really up to you, it is either an investment or waste in your own eyes. Foreget what others may say.
