Do you think restoration adds or removes value from an origional model 37? I need some real serious input. I'm trying to buy one from a friend just for the sake of restoring and using it. I'm not in it to make any money. It's pretty beat up and needs a lot of work. What's your take on the perma-blue products? Any good? Let me know your opinions please!!!

Beater 37s are shooters, not museum pieces. Fix it up as you like. Numrich carries new wood from time to time and Wenig will make you a fitted stock.

The Winchester 37 was and is the best of the little singles. Arnold Reiger used one to get in the ATA Hall of Fame.

HTH....
