well guys this is my project.. i am going to refinash the stock and reblue the whole gun... and hopefully make it reliable agian..

this old thing had problems with stovepiping on me about 2 times plus on a 7 round mag.. no matter if i fired it slowly or not..

the mag was loose in it so and i mangaged to tigten it up quite a bit.. but besides the extractor not geting a firm grip on the shell what else can cause this problem??

i think i'll take pictures and show you guys the progress as it goes..

you're on the right track

I would think you are on the right track. You might try replacing the mag if you can find one. I would also tweak the extractor a little. I would make sure you chamfer the leading edge as well as make sure the hook engagement is positive, and make sure it springs out enough to allow the round to feed up. Good luck with your project.

The first firearm I ever shot was my dad's 152. They are well machined. I'd check to make sure the edge of the chamber isn't peened by dry firing.
