Hello All,

Does anyone have any information on the Republic Arms 45? I'm specifically looking for information on reliability and prices. My local dealer has one for sale and it looks pretty good but have never heard much about them. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Pat

All I know if they make 1 gun that I have seen or heard of..the one you are looking at ! It looks great...kinda like what the Taurus PT145 should have been...The RA 45 retails for 319.00$
I doubt you should pay retail on it!

I havent heard anything good or bad! Which frankly means nothing, but if it was all bad, I think we would have heard about
it by now.....

Shoot well

This is an excellent compact DAO .45 weighing 20 oz. unloaded. You shouldn't pay more than $200-225. The company has gone out of business and sold its assets, so this may have an effect on customer service in the future. Reports are very good on this pistol, although it is made by the Davis Industries people of California. I am glad to have mine, which was very hard to find and had to be ordered for me.

I believe the company was sold to Cobra Enterprises or something. They do have a website (I forget the exact address), but it was taking too long to load on my computer. I got my Patriot NIB a couple of years ago for $265. I don't regret paying that much at all. This gun was impossible to find. I've never seen another one for sale. Mine has been accurate and trouble-free. I bought a "Spare Parts Kit" from Republic Arms a while back because it was a good deal...Every part on the gun except frame, slide and barrel for $65. The kit even came with an extra seven round mag (six is standard). Cobra may still have these available if you can contact them. What is the asking price of the gun you found?

Hi All,

Thank you for the good reports on these pistols. I will have to start working on my local dealer to come down on his price. I was in there yesterday and the price had come down to $299.99, it was $349.99. I think I'll look around a little more also to see if I can find them more reasonable elsewhere.

Thank you again,

Pat

Yep, that's the one. What I've heard is that they will continue production of the Patriot, (along with some other pistols) but rename it and add a slide stop. Personally, I've never missed that particular feature on this pistol, so I'm happy with the original. $299 is probably a tad high for this model, but if I came across a NIB Patriot at that price, I know I'd cave in and buy it. Good luck.
