replacing m1 carbine front sight

my local gun shop has a universal m1 carbine in decent shape for sale with a mounted scope and under folder stock. I want to lose the scope and mount but the previous owner has removed the front sight. I was wondering how dificult it would be to locate and install a new one.
 
If it's a late model Universal, pass on it. They break easily. A late model will have two return springs, a toggle for the bolt hold open and a poorly done stamped op handle. No milsurp parts will fit on a late model either.
Gunparts has parts for Universals. $10.80 for the sight. $1.45 for the set screw.
