Replacing Kimber's Safety with a Wilson?

Question:

Will a Wilson Ambi Safety drop into a recently mfg. Kimber II, 9mm? Is there fitting that needs to be done and if so, where could I find that info? Is there another brand of safety you'd recommend?

(Note; the Kimber's safety 'bites' into the base of my thumb on my right hand and I'm going to a 4 day shooting school and shoot it with my support hand
. This is the reason I want to go with an ambi safety.)

Thanks for your help.

Safeties almost always require fitting.
Most safeties are actually made over-sized in critical areas so they can be fitted to a wide range of guns.

Do a Google search for "1911 safety fitting". There are a number of sites that show how to fit.
Since the safety is so critical, and mis-fitting can be deadly (literally), unless you're totally sure about it, have a gunsmith do it:

I had an issue with the sharp squarish edge of my Kimbers orig safety tearing into my first knuckle of my thumb after extended shooting sessions. I sent it off to Novak's and they installed a King's ambi. My wife's a lefty.

Great fit and a more thumb-friendly bevel on the back edge of the safety.
