Replacing Glock mags

What is the rule on sending damaged/worn hi-caps to Glock and receiving new ones as replacements? As I understand it, this is perfectly legal. What is the charge?

The reason I'm asking is that I saw an ad in Shotgun News for KY Imports which has used/demo mags for half the price of new hi-caps. Couldn't a person buy the used mag and ship it off to Glock to get a new one? As I'm sure Glock doesn't replace them for free, there shouldn't be any ethical concern and you can get hi-caps for a bit less money.

I know there's something wrong with either my logic or my information so feel free to correct me.

I don't know about the entire mag but I have had Glock replace two G17 springs and two G21 springs. All for free over the phone t Smirna, Georgia.

All ya gotta do is ask.

From what I understand, you can "repair" a high capacity magazine, which includes replacing any part. The key factor is that you don't end up with more hi-cap magazines than you started with.

Note: I am not a lawyer, and I don't play one in TV.

a friend of mine shipped his whole gun to glock to get it repaired and also shipped with it i believe 2 hi-caps. glock fixed the problem with the gun and replaced the hi-caps with new ones (or maybe just upgraded all old parts) for free.

also if you go to a GSSF match the armorer there will look at the mags and replace any worn parts for free (but i don't think this includes mag tubes).
