Replacement ring around scope eyepiece

I'm new to guns so please bear with me as I try to desribe what I'm looking for. I recently inherited a Remington 700 BDL with a scope on it. On the side of the scope that you look through it is missing the ring that goes around the edge of the eyepiece. I would imagine it is probably rubber to protect you if you get hit with the scope. Right now it is just sharp metal. Is there a way to just purchase that ring or do I just need a new scope? Thanks.

call the scope manuf. not surprising for someone like Leupold to toss one in the
mail....or attach one after examination and send it back free of charge. Leopold
is know for similar feats of customer service.
