I have stumbled into a good looking and shooting sporterized Mod 1917 fairly cheaply ($185), and got a use fixed 4x Leupold on it for $100.
I have begun to make this thing hit targets, but am noticing the trigger now more and more. My only real comparison is a Sako Hunter in 270 win, which has a very crisp trigger. By comparison, the Eddystone is a long pull; resulting in something that does not pass for smoothness on my part.
I could just shoot a couple hundred rounds until I adjust. But is it feasible to replace, or adjust, this trigger so that it approaches the feel of the Sako.
How would I go about it -- I'm no smith. What would it cost.
Thanks for any suggestions.
