(repeat question?) Defensive shotgun training in Minneapolis/St.Paul

I would like to get a 12ga pump...however, I have not enough skill to even mount it right and so end up bruised. Time to get some very basic training. Where?

Oleg,
http://www.plusp.com/shotgun.html

I will caution you -- the instructor has gotten flak on rec.guns and (I think) the COMTAC tactics list. I know that instructors will disagree about the best way of doing things, but this one seems to make some pretty weird statements (see some of his articles on the web site -- like saying a hit from an AK47 has a x% chance of killing you).

But you asked....

I have taken plusp's training. He is well-regarded by some people and hated by others. I would like to check several options before making up my mind.

This may be OT, but what a stupid backwards attitude Mr. Awerbuck has.

The net is the best tool gun owners have to find useful information, keep abreast of unfortunate legislative attacks, and organize.

The dinosaurs usually die out without leaving a lasting legacy. Does Mr. Awerbuck think that as many people would be taking his classes if they hadn't heard about them on the net first?

End of rant.

here is louis awerbucks info and some others you may wish to ck out.

Here is my list of recommended shooting schools that I have personally attended. (I can not vouch for the ones I have not been too.) www.prifirearmstraining.com (personal responsibility) www.guntactics.com (randy Cain) www.gunsite.com (Jeff cooper)

Oleg:
Check out http://www.defensive-edge.net
It's in Anoka, and offers shotgun training.

I just came across the site, and have not heard any discussion from others about it. I sent them an e-mail with questions about their training. I got a reply the same day, and it was a personal response that gave me enough confidence to sign up for a course.

The web site does not list prices. A one day course is $110. I'm going to see if I can take the handgun course on Aug. 21, and will share my experiences.
