I will go ahead and apologize for this link laden post but I think it's the easiest way to ask this question.
I am looking to add a sling to my 870 Express, 18"bbl with 2 shot extension, as seen here http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model_870/model_870_express_synthetic_18inch.asp.
I would like to add the Specter CBQ sling, as seen here http://www.spectergear.com/870_1187_cqb_sling.htm. Does anyone have any experience with or see a major problem with, attaching the rear of the sling "stirrup style" There is no stud on the butt of my stock to attach a swivel to and I don't feel comfortable drilling one myself.
Will the Wilson Combat side or vertical sling mount fit the bill for front attachment? http://www.wilsoncombat.com/sa_slings_mounts.asp. Is there a preferred mounting direction for less snagging, "proper" carry style? I'm guessing side.
Thank you!
