Remy 870 Marine Magnum Laziness

Is it possible to shoot the 870 marine magnum straight out of the box? I mean no cleaning no nothin'....just take it out brand new, load up some shells and go blasting?

You can do whatever you please, it's your shotgun. As for my opinion and what I do myself is "field strip, clean, lube, verify function, familiarize myself with it and then go shooting". Why would you just "take it straight out of the box and shoot it?" Would you actually fire a weapon without verifying there are no barrel obstructions? Wouldn't you want to confirm everything was in place and lubricated?

For me, to field strip, clean, lube, familiarize and verify function is the responsible thing every gun owner should do.

Good post. It doesn't get much better than that.
