Removing sight with loctite?

Greetings
How do I remove a pistol sight with loctite underneath it?
Sight pusher? I've tried hammer and a punch, but it wouldn't budge.
Thank you for your help

Depends on the Loctite. If it is the red stuff (Loctite 271), it is meant to be permanent and you have to heat it with a propane torch to soften it before apply force for removal.

It looks blue but im not sure.
Will torching it damage the sight or the gun finish?
Thanks for your help!
take care

Depends on the gun and the sight. You can use Brownell's heat control paste to preserve bluing, but I wouldn't guarantee no damage to a plastic sight.

I always locktight the grip screws on my 1911's among many other things gun and non-gun related.

An electric sodiering iron is your friend here for removal, use it to apply moderate heat directly to the part of intrest, never had a problem with the finish on parts, but then I am only applying it to screws. While it may not get things as hot as propane, a slightly longer time at temp should make it all equal unless we are talking about fasteners you need an impact gun to turn.

This loctite is getting on my nerves.
The parts involved are a novak rear sight and a stainless type finish on a S&W 1066.
Would it be better to have a gunsmith do this, I really don't want to do any damage incase of resale.
Thanks guys, I appreciate it!!
Take care

Since it is the blue stuff, it should not require heat, but a bit will help. Even a hair dryer will assist with that stuff. Are you pushing the rear site off left to right?
