removing copper mark on Sig nitron coated slide

I recently noticed on the slide of my sig p229, what I think is a mark from an fmj fragment . It appeared after firing at an indoor range. The mark is just forward of the rear site. I've looked at it through a loop and it does not look like the nitron coating is damaged. The mark is driving me crazy and I want it gone but am worried about damaging the nitron finish. Does anyone have any suggestions or knowledge about what sig's nitron coating can stand up to? I was thinking of trying some break-free copper remover but I want to be sure it's safe first. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you both. Have either of you tried kroil or break free copper remover in this application? I'm just trying to get as much information as possible before I work on it. thanks.
