Removing a2 front tower sight

I recently purchased my first AR and I love it but i'm not much of a fan of the front sight. I've asked several of the local gun shops about removing it and replacing it with a low profile gas block and none of them want to take on the job. Is this something that a person with no gunsmithing background like myself can tackle and if so how would I take part in doing so?
 
Haven’t done it yet myself but shouldn’t be too hard
There are plenty of videos that show how
The pin has to be driven out in a certain direction so make sure you know which way before you start
This isn’t the one I was looking for but it does go over it
Just do a search and then decide if you want to attempt it

Thanks for the reply since I posted this i have been watching the videos and looking over the information that I can find and I think i'm gonna attempt it. I have also found that if you face the barrel to the left of you the pins drive down, I don't know if you are planning on trying it yourself but maybe that will help you out. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
