Remmington 1100

I just checked Gun Broker, Guns America, and Auction Arms and found no rem.1100's for sale. Are these guns that good that nobody wants to part with them?

I don't own one but live near the plant, always have been talk about them jamming, much like the 7400, 740... Keep the inners clean and i think they are a beautiful gun... just what i know on the matter..

I have one (28" barrels, 12 gauge) and it's a great gun. My first shotgun. I haven't shot too many rounds with it, but it's been very reliable so far. For me, it points naturally and when I tested the gun at the range (shooting at a 4'x4' target) it shot to where I was looking.

I've seen some older 1100's at the range and they worked reliably and were also beautiful (much nicer wood than mine, and a nice deep blue finish).

I haven't shot mine much since I bought an over/under gun (I'm too lazy to pick up the empty casings that are auto ejected by the 1100, hence the O/U). However, the 1100 points more naturally for me than other shotguns that i've tried.

If you spelled it "Remmington", I am not surprised! LOL

I got 462 hits on Remington 1100 on Gunbroker.

But to answer your question...they are quite the cat's meow.

I've had an 1100 for over 20 years. It hasn't ever had an FTF or malfunction of any kind. I pull the trigger, it goes boom. Everytime.

I use it for dove, quail, chukar and waterfowl and sporting clays AND I only use Improved Cylinder choke...

I have a nice Remington 11-87 that can be yours.
The 11-87 is an improved version of the 1100.
It's claim to fame is it can handle a wider range of ammo then the 1100.
Let me know if you are interested.

Brian, I appreciate the offer but I was just curious. I logged onto Remington's website and found they were giving away an 1100 this month. So I thought I'd check the auctions and see what they're selling for. I see from the responses to my post here that they're good reliable guns. But I have 4 shotguns now 3 Win. & 1 Newport. 2 of these I've yet to shoot.

Remington 1100

I shoot an 1100 for trap. Thirty inch, full choke, back bored, ported and the forcing cone lenghtened. A custom adjustable soft comb. I've shot at least 25,000 rounds through it. never a failure at singles or doubles. I had three Perazzis and a couple kreighoffs. Sold them all and kept the 1100. My best scores were with the 1100. Wouldn't sell it even if I never shot trap again.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
