Remington VSSF 308?

I hear from Rem that they don't make these anymore. Are they still available anywhere? I think I might want to add one to my collection!

Yes, you are correct. Remington discontinued the 308 VSSF. There are still some fine examples floating around. I bought one that was posted on gunsamerica.com and I have seen a few on gunbroker and auctionarms every once in awhile.

Do you know why Remington discontinued this particular model? I thought it was one of their most popular rifles.

Sorry, I have no idea why they stopped making it in .308; one would think that is the worse thing to do from a marketing and sales standpoint. I found out when I was looking to purchase one about a 1 1/2 years ago.

Remington won't even make the upcoming 700 Titanium model in .308 but will have it in 7mm-08. All they need to do is use a 30 caliber barrel and they have an instant 308.

Their logic escapes me.....
