Remington shotgun question

What are the differences between Wingmasters and Express/HD's? Are parts interchangable within guage? Will the tube extensions/side saddles fit the wingmasters?

thanks

Ned, there are dimples in many Remington Guns that prevent the installation of magazine tube extensions. These can be removed with a large drill bit or dent remover and must be removed to use the extensions. Take off your end cap and barrel and you can see the dimples under the barrel ring thing that attaches to the magazine. (no, that's not the technical term for it)

badger's right on the Express version. I installed a Choate tube extension & had real problems. Subsequent check showed the darned "dimples" in the front end of the factory tube (not present on my Wingmaster).

Used a Dremmel with a cylindrical (uh, big time brain fade happenin') stone thingy to grind the "dimples" flush- depressed to the tube. Works like a champ now.

As for sidesaddles, the answer depends on which forend you have. The traditional forend will be too long for a six-round sidesaddle, though the newer 4-rounder was made to work with these. If you want to use the 6-rounder, look for either an 870-P forend, or get an aftermarket short synthetic one from Speedfeed or others.
