Remington RP9 for $249? That didn't take long.

Saw these now for $249 after a $50 rebate. That's crazy low for a pistol that really just came out.

Apparently sales haven't been good. Anyone here own an RP9 and care to share your experiences? I'm not going to buy one, but just curious how those if you who own one feel about this pistol.

That $50 will get spent on all the aspirin you'll be taking to deal with the headache's you will inevitably get dealing with Remington's customer service.

Buy a Hi Point instead and save yourself the money and the pain.

Remington seems to be having difficulty producing quality examples of products they've made for years. I personally don't have a lot of confidence in their ability to make new products right now after the R51 fiasco.

It seems to me like a major manufacturer shouldn't have this many problems bringing what is now a very mature and common format to market. But yet here Remington is somehow manufacturing a pistol that's hitting the clearance rack almost immediately.

If it says Remington I avoid it.

I stopped buying Remington products as the company is all about quick profits and sloppy manufacturing, I doubt the upper management thinks beyond today's lunch. Will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to go bust.

They could drop the price to $100 and most of us still wouldn't buy one. Too many good options out there to waste time/money on a brand new product from a company that has a bad reputation for quality control.

Personal rant: I wish gun companies would stop releasing so many new products and just focus on perfecting what we already have. This is a perfect example. I don't need Remington to make a poly handgun, I need them to figure out the quality control on their bolt action rifles.

Firearm manufacturers are becoming like car manufacturers now, in that ever year needs a new product or an update to the existing product.

They have never been expensive from what I understand.

MAC on YouTube has a few videos out on the pistol. His first one had intermittent issues. The second worked fine.

^ was the second one the one he used for the Gauntlet? I though the one in the Gauntlet was the newer one and what seemed odd about that pistol was that even after thoroughly rinsing it out with water it still didn't return to full function.

Was it that one or the M&P? I remember the M&P started working when he lubed it again but I thought the RP9 continued to have issues. They start running together in my memory.
