Remington rolling block

Hello all, I am new to the forum and already have a question . Have been offered a chance to buy a rifle described as:
Remington Rolling Block Military Rifle. 35" barrel is 11mm and has an excellent bore. The top tang is marked E. Remington & Sons Ilion, N.Y. U.S.A. over Pat. May 3d 1864 May 7th, June 11th, Nov 12th, Dec. 24th 1872 over Dec. 31st 1872 Sept. 9th 1873 Jan 12th March 18th 1874. The barrel is a mix of gray and brown and the receiver has a considerable amount of case colors left. The wood stocks are very good with the usual nicks and dents present. This is an above average example of a military rolling block
Now the question , what would be the average price in today's market

this should give you an idea... BTW... if no one is bidding, the price is probably the sellers "dream price" but guns that are actively being bid on probably realisticly represent a "going" price...

BTW #2... love those guns, I have a Remington #1, that was customized in the late 60's - early 70's, that I restored as customized, & rechambered in a safer caliber ( 32-40 ) & just bought a custom long range rifle built on an old Navy Arms rolling block action in 40-65

"Typical" price for a military issue Rem Rolling Block #1 as you described runs in the $400-$600 range, unless there is something pretty special about it. Special documentation, owned by a special person, used in a special event (fired at Camp Perry competition by the winner, etc), or special features (engraving, gold inlay, etc). If it is in absolutely "as new" condition, then only MAYBE, because there are a lot of restored rifles around.

FWIW, there are lots of Rem rolling block rifles out there, some in excellent condition. I could lay my hand on a pretty clean #4 in 7X57 in about 5 minutes if I had $400 in my other hand, possibly a little less $ if I haggled.
