Remington Nylon 76 stock repair

My Toy

I just received a Remington nylon 76 and it has a crack in the stock under the metal receiver cover. The crack runs the whole length from the top of the receiver to the trigger guard on one side. The other side of the receiver is OK and is basically what is keeping the front of the stock from separating from the rear butt stock. The question is: Is there any kind of adhesive that can be used to cement this crack ( in other words any kind of adhesive that will bond to this nylon stock)? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A polywelder would work. It uses hot air and a plastic filler rod of similar material fed through the tip.

Have you tried places like Numrich to see if a replacement stock is available?

Since the stock IS the receiver, a replacement would be the only way, AND would most likely cost as much as another whole rifle.

IIRC the stock isn't serial numbered.

I looked it up in Numrich's catalog and it's PN#829650, about $60.00, but sold out.

I'll check out that adhesive. I've been using E-6000, which is really impressive stuff, and readily available at Lowes, Tap Plastics, and plumbing supply places.
