I have a Remington short action detachable magazine mountain rifle that I would like to put a new composite stock on. Is anyone aware of a company that makes composite stocks for this rifle????? Even if I have to lose the detachable magazine and turn it into regular magazine, I am still looking to make sure that the stock will take the mountain rifle barrel contour. Thanks for your help.

http://www.stockysstocks.com/servlet/the-190/700-alaskan-ti-wildermess/Detail The mountain rifle stock is the same stock that is made for the now discontinued Remington Ti rifle. Remington made a few ADL stainless Mt rifles back in the early 90's. They claim that this is for specialists only but that is because most folks who order them do so for a standard ADL and have to modify the barrel channel for a standard contour barrel. Once you convert to ADL your rifle should drop in.

I put my stainless ADL in one of these. You will have to covert your rifle into an ADL with a blind magazine. Also remember that this is a special order. Mine came in 4 months to the day after I placed the order.

About the only other option is www.Mcmfamily.com They will make anything you want, in any color or stock shape, or barrel channel you want. Including a stock that will work with the DM. A standard weight McMillan will set you back about $440, but will not be as light as the B&C, but will be MUCH stronger. For $520 or so you can get a McMillan Edge that will be both lighter than the B&C and MUCH stronger. I've got 3 McMillans and highly recommend them, but this B&C stock ain't bad for themoney. It is the only B&C stock I'd touch however.

Get a McMillan Hunters edge for the Detachable magazine. Got one for my 700 Mtn with the DM. Expensive, but the way to go IMO. Also converted my 700 Ti ADL to a regular BDL configuation...got another Mcmillan in BDL and bought the bottom metal from Brownells...perfect fit...absolutely no reason to give up the DM option..

I have a 700bdl in 270 I got the comp stock so my sister could handle the rifle and it accually works "it prettymuch made it feel like I was shooting an ar15" the only issue is the lop went to about 15" and there made by blackhawk IMHO I would just buy a regular hogue stock.

Added: my bad I thought it said compstock instead of composit I read it to fast
