Remington Model 34 Bolt Action Value

I have a random question. I have a Remington Model 34 Bolt Action .22 with peep sites on it. It is not in the best of conditions, but it still works perfectly and and can still hit the target dead on.

I am wondering if there is anyone that would know the general book value of the gun. I don't plan on selling it, but I am wondering if they are worth refinishing it or if I should just leave it as it is and keep it clean.

Thanks

Not worth refinishing. I just sold a model 33, same thing just with standard sights that was all patina, but working for $120. I would say yours is worth $150 as long as theres no bad pitting or stock problems. Its not worth refinishing because for one, the gun's not worth much, and 2, it RARELY adds value to a gun and in many cases, it takes value away. If you like it, and it shoots good and works well, who cares about the finish?

If your Model 34 came with peep sights it would be a Model 34 P, value about $150 or so. I would agree that it may not be worth the cost of restoring it, but that is generally a call for the owner to make. Factory replacement parts are not available, so don't break anything.
