Remington Model 24 Front Site measurement

Hi All,

If anyone has a Model 24 short only, I need a dimension from the top of the barrel to the pipper on the front site as I think mine be after market.

Having a hard time bring a solid group down to the bull. Rear site is down all the way and suspect front site is just the wrong height for the gun.

Thanks,

Measure your current sight, decide how much too short it is by calculating. Remember, distance low/distance from rifle to target (in inches) = amount too short/distance between front and rear sight. For example, if you are hitting 6" too high at 25 yds and 18" between sights:
6/900=.006666666667
.006666666667*18= .12
in this example, your front sight would be .120" too short, so order one that is .125"-.135" taller (because the rear sight is bottomed out).
Just substitute the actual numbers for your calculations, then order a front sight from Brownells, Midway, etc, etc. Just remember, if you are hitting too high, your front sight is too short; too low means your front sight is too tall.
