Remington Model 11 shotgun

I picked up a Remington Model 11 shotgun recently. During dis-assembly, I noticed the magazine spring seemed weak so I ordered a new one from Gun Parts. The new one seemed just as weak and even shorter, but had the same number of coils as the original. However, neither will function correctly - the springs are too weak. It appears these springs may be sized for a magazine tube plugged down to 2-3 rounds.

Anyone know where I can get a spring that will work with 5 shells in the tube?

Here's the problem..

The attached picture show the problem -- shells in the magazine don't stay tucked up inside the mag tube. I can push them in, but they pop back out a bit.

I'm not so sure this is a mag spring problem anymore. I polished and lubed the inside of the mag tube and that is very smooth now. I suspect I may be missing a part. Look at the picture where I have circled in red a slot. I don't have anything to go in there, should there be something there?

The second picture shows how the shell sticks out, and the third is a shot of the spring on the other side of the gun. Does this all look right?
