I inherited my dad's 11-84, probably late 50's, early 60's. Anyone know about this model? Differences between it and the 1100 and 1187? I've never had an auto loader before, always shot doubles and O/U's. Thanks in advance.
I believe you have an 11-48, not an 11-84. They are decent guns that are the predecessor of the 1100's. They are recoil operated and a bit odd as the barrel recoils back into the receiver. I have never used one much, but theyshot well enough.
I would have to agree, it sounds like a 11-48. It is a sort of spinoff of the Browning recoil system used on their A-5 Models. The guns work well if clean and some are actually holding their value decently.
