I know very little about rifles but ended up with a couple of old Remington .22's.. one is a model 34 and the other is a model 512. I doubt either one has been out of a closet for the past 30 years or so. surprisingly they are in pretty decent shape. I have started in to clean up the model 512. I have an exploded diagram and I got it all dis-assembled and cleaned up. I removed and cleaned the bolt assembly but now am having problem getting it back together. everything is back fine except the final piece which is the main spring and bolt sleeve on the very back of the bolt. I can't seem to compress the spring enough to get the pin to line up. don't have enough hands or there is a trick to this I don't know. I realize this is probably a really stupid question but with anything other than handguns I am out of my league. Is there an easier way to get the spring and bolt sleeve back on this rifle??
