My son has a shotgun which belonged to his grandfather. My wife believes thatit originally belinged to HER grandfather.
It could be a Remington M11. It is 20 ga with an adjustable choke. The barrell is 27 1/4 including the choke. On the barrel it has "Remington Arms Co Inc Ilion N.Y. Made in USA. Brownings US Pats 689,283-710,094-730,870-812,326 AlsoPat No1,931262" and "20 GA. for 2 3/4 or shorter shells" On the side of the bolt it has "The Sportsman" The SN is
110X726.
Is it an M11? How old is it ? Is it worth anything?

If it looks like the Browning Auto 5, it's a Model 11. Remington made them in the US, while the A-5 was made in Belgium. Some parts interchange.

Had one as a family gun, worked fine after replacing the friction rings, but the stock didn't fit me.'Nother family member has it now and likes same...
