Hey all, Merry Christmas. First post here. I got a new Taurus model 85 SS. I haven`t fired it yet. Maybe Tues.I can shoot it. Is the Remington 125 gr. Golden Saber a good defence round?
Thanks Jay

Yea, Golden Sabres are great. I've shot them, and Gold Dots, all were really good...but I settled on Federal Hydro-Shoks.

RE: Remington (handgun) ammo

Remington's website - to be very kind - sucks!

They used to give a lot of decent details about handgun loads.
They don't do that anymore.
It's odd that in a world of instant information access, Remington all of a sudden decides they want to be closed mouthed about their products.

Not that it will matter all that much to them ,,but,, I belive I've bought my last box of any Remington defensive ammunition. I used to like the Golden Sabers,,,but I won't buy a pig in a poke.

The gold sabres are good rounds. Also I've had good luck with PMC eldorado starfires in 125gn+p. They seem to shoot the best in my taurus snub.
