Remington 887

Keep in mind that with shotguns you need to really filter the signal out of the noise. Pay attention to direct experience with function. Ignore the throngs of people who consider anything but a Purdey & Sons side by side ugly and therefore unworthy of purchase.

I have a 105 CTi II, and you'd think it was complete crap- seems my gun doesn't know it, it works incredibly well and is the envy of some guys I shoot with.

If those who have one say it shoots well, go for it. I'm not sure how much it varies from the 870 (well, other than the plastic shell), and Remington seems to have that one pretty well nailed down.

I picked up the camo 887 this week. Killer gun, patterns vey well with the waterfowl choke that comes with it. This is my first Remington shotgun and pump for that matter so I do not have anything to compare it to including the 870. I can say it shoots very well and feels very natural to me. I wanted a back up shotgun and one I could use in the rain with no worries. I will give it the rain test tomorrow while duck hunting. I am not disapointed thus far.

It's finish is much better than a 870 express.

The finish on an 870 express is ugly and rusts easily. But if your area is not humid or you don't hunt often, it shouldn't be an issue.

I would describe it as a Benelli Supernova blessed with the smooth action of an 870. It's actually on my to buy list :D.
