Keep in mind that with shotguns you need to really filter the signal out of the noise. Pay attention to direct experience with function. Ignore the throngs of people who consider anything but a Purdey & Sons side by side ugly and therefore unworthy of purchase.
I have a 105 CTi II, and you'd think it was complete crap- seems my gun doesn't know it, it works incredibly well and is the envy of some guys I shoot with.
If those who have one say it shoots well, go for it. I'm not sure how much it varies from the 870 (well, other than the plastic shell), and Remington seems to have that one pretty well nailed down.
