Folks - new to forum and would appreciate any thoughts - have a chance to buy, local dealer, NIB 870 Police w/green TEFLON coating - said to be original factory gun.

Can't find confirmation on Remington's site of a teflon finish, only parkerized.

Thx

This isn't a Police model.
It's actually an Express Model with the plastic trigger guard and other Express features.

It's essentially the Express Home Defense Model with a different stock, and a green coated finish.

This is very good info and came right on time. I'm also looking for a Rem 870 Express HD.

I just spoke this morning over the telephone with a sales rep from Dicks Sporting Goods here in MD. He told me almost the exact thing, "Remington made a special model, green color, just for us".

I'm going to check it out tomorrow morning, and I believe he quoted me a price a little over $300.00. I'll check it against the specs posted in this msg.

God that looks yuckie...........but strangely attractive. :barf: :) :)

For some reason I've always liked the idea of an OD Green gun.

MANY years ago, someone was making plastic standard stocks and forearms for the 870 in OD Green, and I've always kicked myself for not buying one.

I do have to say the green metal and the black stock looks good.

Any estimate on how hard and tough the finish is, and how well it'll hold up???

One of the bigger shops in our area has been getting them in regularly and selling them just as quick. Definately an Express.
