i have an 870 Marine, i don't see to many of them around at the gun shows. i bought mine 2 yrs ago and it still has its cherry. i think the only reason i bought it was because i thought it was nice piece to have in my collection that i'm starting. i would like to get a slug barrel for it, but i guess my question is what about the tube extender?? i haven't really looked at it but i don't think it will fit correctly with the tube extender on. maybe i should just buy a new 870 combo!!!!

The extender will fit with a new barrel of any type.

If you'd like to convert to the standard 4 shot magazine, buy an OLD STYLE magazine retainer, a standard length magazine spring, and an OLD STYLE magazine cap.

Simply remove the extension, coupling, and spring, install the short spring and the spring retainer, install the barrel, and screw the magazine cap on.

The old style magazine spring retainer is simply a "cup-bushing". This is a split cup-like bushing that is pressed into the end of the magazine tube and retains the spring.

The old style magazine cap has a "notched" outer rim that works with the plunger on the front of the barrel ring to hold it in place.

The spring, retainer, and magazine cap can be bought fairly cheap.
