I have a 870 express with a 7shot mag and thiking of selling it for a older Wingmaster police. Is the wingmaster a better rifle or should I upgrade the express model?

I would say keep the 870, better gun in my opinion. Sounds like you got a mag extension and all, why get rid of it?

If there's nothing wrong with your Express, I don't see the benefit of selling it for an older shotgun, unless you just want "police" imprinted on the side of the receiver.

As an FFL dealer, I'll always trade a new Express for an older Wingmaster if the trade is even, or close to it. The Express doesn't compare in fit, and especially in finish. The Wingmaster is much smoother...just feels better. People know this and will pay as much, or more, for an older Wingmaster than they will for a NIB Express....sometimes much more, depending on condition of course.

when ( or maybe if ) I go to heaven .....

women will all be attractive...
I'll be a lot younger ...
and everyone will trade me an 870 Wingmaster for a used 870 Express ....

Now if I can only take about 25 Express models with me ...I don't want to shoot em / just trade em ..... ( and I like the Browning BPS way better than a Wingmaster ...)..

As I noted in a recent posting, Remington 870s are not limited to Wingmasters and Expresses. The 870 Magnum and 870 P are discrete models. In general, the 870 P's concentrate on reliability, the Wingmasters are aimed toward nicer finishes and the Express are tailored to budget conscious buyers.

I concur with TxGun's propensity to swap Expresses for Wingmasters; however, I can't make the same blanket statement about the P models. They should be evaluated on a gun by gun basis. Of course, these generalities don't take into account the OP's intended use of his Wingmaster. I assume he's pondering taking it to the filed or range as opposed being a closet queen awaiting an HD incident .
