Remington 870 and H&R Pardner Pump,,,

The 870 is made in USA and the Pardner is made by Hawk Industries in China. The Pardner is a clone of the 870 - all parts interchange except the barrel. Remington owns Marlin which bought H&R. For around $200.00 the Pardner is a fantastic value and Remington is doing us all a favor by importing it. The Remington 870 will continue to be the most popular pump action and is a good value.

The pardners also commonly go on sale at your big box stores for around 160's

Just about the best deal out there shotgun wise

Remington ain't doin' a favor... The chinese gun was already in the H&R line up...
Hopefully Remington won't downslide the quality of Marlin or H&R (american made) products...

Ya' know I hear (on the Internet... So, it must be true.) about Remington's
quality not being what it was in the past. Perhaps the critics are right. (They say the same about S&W.) But all you have to is pick one up and see that there's not another gun as smooth in it's price range. Granted Mossberg makes a nice gun enough gun too (but it's not as nice as a Remington.)

The clone is okay but spend the extra and buy the real thing if possible.

Junior's 870 Mag Express felt like some one threw a hand full of sand in the action... And that is after a full cleaning and re-lube.

hogdogs, why are you throwing sand down the boy's gun just to make your Mossberg feel smoother? That's just not right, but I guess it's okay cause I bet the Remington still works great! :D
