Remington 870... a few questions

I just recently bought an 870 18" express synthetic, and I just had a few questions.

1) Is dry firing the shotgun gunna harm it?
2) Is it possible to clay shoot with the 18" model?
3) Is it ok to load and unload the same cartridge over and over?

Thank you to whoever takes the time to answer this noob's questions. :D

1, No, within reason.

2, It'll work for skeet, a great game, and for some shots at SC. For trap and longer shots, best to pick up a second, longer barrel with choke tubes. Or, get another 870 so equipped.

3,yes, but you may be better off with dummy rounds for safety's sake.

TIP: Of course observe all safety rules.

Bring slide to rear enough to remove round from chamber (if there is one), but stopping short of feeding a round from the magazine. Then push up on lifter (shell carrier) to get it out of the way. Bring slide the rest of the way to the rear while catching the shell as it pops out ( I like to put my thumb on the case head and let it ease out). Then push in on the right shell latch with right fore-finger to unload each additional round (it'll be on the left with the gun upside down --the shell latch--not the finger :D ). Double check chamber (put finger in it) and magazine. :)

Thank you guys for all your input... I know a lot of boards get angry at noobs for asking such questions, but you guys are very good about it. Thank you all...
