Remington 7600 stock question

I've been thinking of buying a Remington 7600 pump rifle in .308 Winchester, with the synthetic stock. I like the rifle, but I prefer iron sights and the factory stock has a comb that is too high for me to comfortably get my head down where I want it when using iron sights.
Does anyone know if the synthetic stock from Remington 870 or 1100 will work on a 7600? They appear to be very similar, don't have a high comb, and I can get either one very inexpensively.
Thanx.

Buttstock should be the same

They should use the same buttstock, but I don't think the forearm will work, but I can't say for sure. Have you thought about the accuracy of the gun? These guns are renowned for needing a good bit of work on the forearm to get them to shoot decent groups. You might think about a BLR in .308 if that is what you are after, otherwise the 7600 should be fine.

Most aftermarket and factory stocks are made for telescopic sights. If you can find one for a 7600, an adjustable comb stock would solve your issue.

I can use the forearm that comes on the gun. I'm specifically interested in just replacing the buttstock.
I appreciate the input.
