Remington 760 .243

I have a Remington 760 Gamemaster in .243 I can't help but notice the action seems gummy, not smooth or crisp at all. I've taken it down as much as I could to try to clean it up, but it seems the action bars aren't possible to take out of the reciever. Is there any way I can take it apart completely? Or is this just the way they feel? Thanks for any help.

I haven't hunted all through http://www.tcsn.net/doncicci/freedom.htm but there is one link to cutaways or exploded views of guns, there.

You might repost in the Smithy Forum; I'll wait a bit before moving this over, or closing the thread here.

In the meantime, if you have the stock off, and the trigger-group out, you can thoroughly flush the action with carb cleaner or gasoline, and then spray lightly with a good gun oil...

I have the assem/disassem of this gun and it explains briefly how to remove the action bars. I will send by separate email as soon as I have it on disc. should't be but a couple of hours.

That is a good place for a spray cleaner. Just remove the fore end and trigger group and spray the heck out it, letting it drain. Once everything is drained and somewhat dried, use a good spray gun oil. Do the same with the trigger group.

Full stripping is rarely necessary.
