Remington 722 question

Alright, you all know about my basic Remington 700 issues, but I have set those aside for the present in favor of getting a smoking deal on a vintage Remington 722 in .308.
(No, I won't use it as a DG rifle)
All metal in superb condition, wood finish needs to be redone, but I was curious about whether a standard Remington 700BDL floorplate/trigger guard setup would fit this action.
The existing floorplate is a piece of stamped sheet metal and not very attractive, although it is functonal.
I realize that if the new floorplate would bolt up, I would perhaps have to re-inlet the stock, but are the hole spacings/sizes the same??
If not, I will leave the floorplate as it is and simply refinish the stock and shoot it a bit.

Jeez, somebody with buttloads of Remington experience has got to know the answer to this....
Come on, give a guy a hand here.

I dont know about the floor plate issue. i do know that the 722 is a great rifle and an "Unsung hero" or "Most Underrated" of the "classic 50s hunting rifles" My friend has a 721 in .270 that his grandfather gave him. It is a great shooter and has dropped many a deer in his hands.

If you need parts call up gunparts or somebody.
