I want to continue using open sights but the factory sights are very small. Can anyone provide info on aftermarket rear sight that is larger (sight picture) but will mount in pesent rear factory sight location? Thanks.

Have you checked out Williams Gun Sights? http://www.williamsgunsight.com

They offer this type of no-gunsmithing sight in addition to the receiver-mounted type.

No personal experience to offer you with them, though.

If it were me, and your rifle is drilled and tapped for one, I'd put a good reciever sight on the gun, remove the rear sight, and use little filler screws to cover up the hole left by the original sight. If your rifle is not already drilled and tapped, it won't cost you a young fortune to have it done. I have a set up like that on a Winchester mod. 70 Featherweight, and I like it fine.
