Remington 700 vs. Winchester 670

Both actions are good and reliable. My question is for what is the Rem 700 optimal for? The closest comparison to the 670 in a Rem would be the M700 ADL. Both are push feed actions, both have blind internal magazines. After that it is all personal prefrence as to which rifle you like.

The 670 has a better extractor, bolts that don't fall off and it won't fire unless you pull the trigger. Other than that they are very comparable.

Have to disagree with a few, as there are Many differences in the design and construction of the different models. Both are fine guns but of entire different makeup. The 700 is a round reciever aka pipe reciever. The recoil lug is simply a washer. The bolt is a 3 piece affair soldered togeather. The extractor is a small piece of bent tin that is actually far more reliable than its construction would lead you to believe. The trigger is quite complicated and troublesome. The magazine box is a piece of folded tin. The 670 is a poor mans model 70. Poorly finished. The reciever is milled from a billet of steel with a flat bottom and built in recoil lug. The trigger is simple and vitually foolproof. The extractor is larger and milled into the bolt. The bolt on the 670 is a 2 piece affair IIRC. Cant recall what the magazine box is like. Not saying one is better than the other though I do have my preferences.
