I live in California bay area. I would like to have the trigger tuned on my Remington 700 PSS. Does anyone know a reliable gunsmith in the bay area who would do it for a decent price and a reasonable amount of time? Thanks in advance.

I have done three!

I received instructions on the Firing Line how to adjust the trigger on my Rem 700 VS when I first got it. The trigger on that gun is beautiful! And since I have adjusted my dad's 700 and even my FFL dealers 700 PSS Rem Ultra Mag. He was so pleased with my trigger job that he gave me my latest purchase at cost! I am not bragging about my own capabilities. I am just a 23 year old school teacher. If I can do it, you can save money and do it too! So unless you are a LEO sniper, do it yourself and save some cash. It is not very difficult. Just make sure to slam the gun around and close the bolt with some force several times to make sure you did not get it too light. Making it too light is about the only way you can really screw it up.

Imbert and Smithers in San Carlos is a Remington Authorized Repair Station so I would think they know what they are doing. However, I have NEVER used them before.

I've worked with Sam Grove out of Sportsmens Supply in Campbell before on other issues and he does good work. He's semi-retired and is only in on Saturdays to receive and return guns. But, he works on them during the week out of his house. You might want to call him in advance to discuss the work you want to have done. I overheard him turn down a trigger job on a pistol a few months back because he didn't want the liability problems. I think he will still do work on rifles though.

If you decide to adjust the trigger yourself, be sure to test it for safety and function very carefully.
